May Employee of the Month - Kim Kitts, Fiscal Technician

Kim’s nominator praised her dedication.
“Kim joined the department in November 2019. While she did not have previous university fiscal experience, I was highly impressed with her ability to quickly learn the new systems and understand university procedures. Even with the challenges presented by a pandemic and working remotely, Kim has consistently improved the department's efficiency through fiscal process application. Kim has independently identified trainings to improve her skills not only in her everyday responsibilities but also in the arena of sponsored projects so she can better support the department faculty. She participates in the monthly college fiscal trainings, completed the fiscal support certificate program and is currently enrolled in the fiscal management certificate program. She has taken the initiative to create new monthly spreadsheets to help faculty track all of their various funds. She also works directly with faculty to ensure they understand and follow all university fiscal policies. She has even created a workbook to manage the monthly reporting of all department fiscal accounts that has made tracking the movement of funds and appropriation of those funds easy for me to quickly access.”
As the College of Agriculture and Life Science, Employee of the Month for May, Kim will receive a plaque, gifts from the college, have her photo displayed in the case in Hutcheson Hall, and will be eligible to be considered for the 2020-21 Employee of the Year award.
